In the interest of this tentative honesty: I am a liar Riley. I am not kind, I am not nice, and I will never be good. I enjoy power and control far too much to be anything but selfish.
Occasionally, when I care about someone enough I decide to try for them. But those are actions done for them alone. I will never extend my goodwill to strangers.
I am not an easy person to befriend, and even harder to trust. I killed one of my closest and most valued people I ever knew, the best among my fellows, a truly good person, because he annoyed me and I happened to forget who he was at the time.

She could whisper sweet words and promises, good enough that anyone would believe them, even a particularly paranoid soul like Riley. But that isn't what this is. Celeste could toy with someone like Riley forever, and she will, but on a more even keel perhaps. She seemed easily put off kilter by her own expectations.
